15 Must Have Travel Items for Baseball Season

Today is National Shop for Travel Day. I know, I know, all these made up holidays, right? But this one fits perfectly in our preparation for the upcoming baseball season. To make sure I wouldn’t miss a thing, I went straight to the source and asked YOU, our community members for your must-have travel items.

Take a peek and let me know what you would add to this list!

15 Must Have Travel Items for Baseball Season

Packing cubes

Always the first recommendation we get for traveling! Packing cubes make it easy to organize your clothes, fill a suitcase without overflowing, and keep dirty and clean clothes separate. There are a million brands to choose from, but Calpack is a community favorite!

Hanging Toiletry Bag

A good toiletry bag is essential to life on the go. Get one that hangs, and you’ll never have to worry about counter space! Pro tip: Buy doubles of your everyday health and beauty items so you never have to unpack. Just grab and go!

Versacart

Ok, this was one of my favorite suggestions from the group. How many times have you had to try to wrestle your groceries and all the things PLUS the dog or the kids and your guy wasn’t around to help? Get one of these carts and throw everything in! Such a great idea! And it folds up nice and small, so it’s easy to keep in the car for when you need it.

Sleep Mask

Raise your hand if you’ve ever been ready to go to sleep but your husband/boyfriend/roomate has the TV or light on? 🙋‍♀️This happens to me all the time, especially in hotels. A sleep mask is a simple way to make sure everyone is happy and well-rested. Maybe throw in some ear plugs too.

Book Light

Speaking of staying up at night, if you’re the one who wants to stay up reading, grab a book light! So much easier than trying to use the flashlight on your phone.

Mini Humidifier

Another product I never knew existed but have added to my list, a mini humidifier! Perfect for traveling and hotels, you can even use it in the car for long road trips. Brilliant!

Blackout shades

We put off buying these last year and SO regretted it. Blackout shades are a must for baseball season. There’s nothing worse than staying up untiI one or two in the morning only to have the sun hit you in the face at 6am. Obviously you don’t want to invest a lot of money in these when you don’t know how long you’ll be somewhere, but that’s what makes these temporary shades so great. Put them up then toss them when you’re done!

Vacuum Bags

When you’re moving across the country, every inch of space counts. Vacuum bags can help condense even the biggest pillows and comforters down into something flat and stackable. Just make sure you have access to a vacuum hose for the journey home at the end of the season. 👀

Stackable Shoe Boxes

Keep your shoes clean and un-smashed in these stackable shoe boxes! They can easily be folded flat for moving, and are super inexpensive. This set of 4 is less than $8!

Travel Plug Adapter

This is a must for all of you doing international ball this year! Make sure to find the adapter specific to your country as they come in all shapes and sizes.

White Noise Machine

These are often talked about in the mom and baby group, but I can’t sleep without white noise either. Especially in a hotel or a place that’s not really home. There are a ton to choose from, but here are the recommendations from you guys:

Conair Sound Therapy Machine

Hatch Sound Machine

HoMedics Sound Spa

Travel Crib

For all you mamas or soon-to-be mamas, you definitely need a travel crib. Make sure to get one that is light and easy to pack! Many moms in our community swear by the Lotus Travel Crib because of it’s side zipper door and backpack carrying case.

Slumberpod

Now to go with your travel crib, the latest and greatest invention we can’t stop talking about Is the Slumberpod. This thing is THE BEST for traveling babies. It’s basically a portable black-out tent that goes over the travel crib, letting your baby get an amazing night’s sleep (or nap during the day), and letting you keep the lights on. No more stumbling around in the dark and drinking wine on the bathroom floor! 🙌 Use the code OBLFAMILY for $10 off.

A Good Stroller

Having a good stroller that is easy to collapse and throw in the car or on an airplane is everything to a traveling mom. The two most often recommended in our community are the Doona and the Babyzen YoYo Stroller.

Gobe Snack Spinner

Want to keep your kids fed and happy at the same time? Check out The GoBe Snack Spinner, the only spill proof snack container that allows your child to choose between five different snacks at once! With the push of a button, they can jump from snack-to-snack, all while reducing spills and mess! More snacking variety for them, less mess for you. That’s what I call a win-win.

Happy Travels!
